For sure, this is the immature me
Just look at the line breaks
Of this free verse
Or the rhyme I use to converse
I like the darkness
It’s where I can see
For sure, this is the brave me
The lion lurking in the void of an alien
World built by God’s man
In the image of love
A theoretical love for sure, it’s blatant
Just look at the state the stars are in
Shooting through a child’s field of vision
A wish granted for the sake of magic
The child will endure what’s tragic
For sure this is the mature me
Just calculate the numbers that tell my age
I am happy to turn the other cheek
And disengage
